The boy grew up a little but no more and in a short time, he changed his appearance, he grew a beard and he got a big nose. It was thus a dwarf.
When the witch saw this, loved her more.
Like most of the time the witch stayed by the stove, the dwarf suspected some mystery kept that site and so he purposed to find out. In a careless of the witch, he rummaged through the ashes and ran into a tunkul [percussion instrument made from a hollow log]. As soon as he had in his hands, hit it and the sound was heard far away. Upon hearing such a noise, the witch came, came to his grandson and said:
-What you have done can not be helped. But I tell you it will not be long before things happen that will fill people with terror and you will be involved in its consequences.
The dwarf replied:
- I am not old and I will see it
The witch said:
- I'm old and I will see it too.
The king of Uxmal and his advisers knew that the sound of that tunkul announced the end of the kingdom; but the advises, not to worry the king they said:
- Fight against your destiny
- How? Asked the king.
- Search for, who played the tunkul listen anything from his lips, the truth you need.
The king ordered his guards to go out to find the person who played the tunkul, and after many days, they found the person and took him to the palace. Upon seeing the dwarf, the King said:
-What announces the sound of the tunkul?
-You know better than me - said the dwarf.
can I get rid of the prophecy? - Asked the king.
- Make a road that goes from Uxmal to Kaban and when it finished, then I will return and give you my answer - said the dwarf.
The road was made and it came the dwarf and the witch. Then the king asked the dwarf:
- What is your answer?
- first I will put you a test, if you resist You will know it,
- What is it?
-That in your head and mine, breaks a fruit called cocoyol [hard stone fruit].
-Okay, but you will suffer the first test, said King
-I agree, if you wish.

-I agree, if you wish.
Approached the executioner, and placed on the head of the dwarf, a cocoyol, and landed a solid blow. The dwarf shook his long hair and stood up smiling. Then the king, in silence, took off his robe and went to the scaffold and the executioner placed a cocoyol in the head. At the first blow the king was dead.
At the same event the dwarf was proclaimed king of Uxmal and later that day the witch called him and said:
- You are a king. Only this, I was expecting before I die. Do not cry to me, because my death is not painful.
